Frequently Asked Questions

1. How long does a full grooming session take?
Most full grooming appointments take between 2 to 4 hours. The exact timing depends on your pet’s size, coat condition, and temperament. We prioritize your pet’s comfort and safety, ensuring they receive a stress-free experience rather than a rushed one.
No, we do not, however, it is recommended, and as the owner you want your pet vaccinations to be updated at all times, especially for the cases when your dog meets other mates.
It really depends on your pet breed, size and fur condition, however, for most breeds, we recommend professional grooming every 4 to 6 weeks. Regular visits help prevent painful matting, manage shedding, and allow for early detection of potential skin issues or lumps.
To ensure the safety and focus of both the groomer and the pet, we generally ask owners to drop off their pets. Pets often become excited and less controllable when they can see their owners, which can make the precision work of grooming (like scissor cuts) more difficult. However, in some cases we will ask the owners to stay, since some of our clients are less anxious in their owner’s presence.
Bark-n-Fitz groomers are trained in fear-free handling techniques. We move at your pet’s pace and use calming aids if necessary. If a pet becomes overly stressed or poses a safety risk, we will stop the service and discuss alternative options or shorter “maintenance” sessions with you.
